If you grind your teeth
you may have a condition known as bruxism.
It is not uncommon, but often difficult to realize that you have it – because it may occur mostly at night. However, many people with bruxism grind or clench their teeth during the day without ever realizing that they are doing it. In some cases, bruxism can lead to jaw disorders, headaches, damaged teeth and periodontitis. Because it is often “under the radar” but can cause severe disorders, it is important to have a discussion with your dentist about the signs and symptoms of bruxism to learn whether this condition could apply to you.
